We are looking for a new Project Manager
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and Youth Music, we are now looking to recruit a Project Manager to oversee all our major projects and events, including an Emerging Artists Programme, which will provide professional support and mentoring for young people with learning disabilities aged 15 to 25, helping them access opportunities to develop as musicians. Also in 2020 we will be launching a new event called SoDaDa, an inclusive clubnight and showcase for learning disability arts in Croydon, bringing together four local arts organisations that support artists with learning disabilities.
Our dream Project Manager will have good leadership skills, plenty of experience running arts projects and share our passion for social inclusion.
You will be part of a small team working alongside a Project Assistant and a Committee of adults with learning disabilities. An important part of the role is to foster and develop professional links and good quality relations with statutory, and other agencies and the community at large. This will include raising awareness and understanding of Club Soda within the community, and the difficulties that those with learning disabilities face.
The Project Manager will be employed by Club Soda on a one year contract initially, with the potential to extend subject to successful funding bids.
The post is for 21 hours per week, the work pattern is negotiable.
The salary is £30,500 pro rata paid monthly in arrears.
You will be entitled to 17 days annual leave per year (includes Bank Holidays).
The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Club Soda wins Culture Seeds Award
On May 16th, The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the winners of his first ever Culture Seeds Awards, recognising the significant positive impact local community culture projects have on the capital.
Club Soda was amongst the ten winners from across the city who were presented with the Culture Seeds Awards, which highlighted how culture can bring Londoners together and empower communities.
Members of Club Soda’s new band, System Experience, were at the City Hall event to receive the ‘Made by Young Creators Award‘, which was awarded in recognition of the Soda Beat Bands project that supports young musicians with learning disabilities to take their music to the next level.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I want to congratulate all the winners for their excellent work – you are proof that culture can benefit us all. Culture has the power to bring communities together and gives young people positive opportunities to discover their creative talent and to achieve their ambitions. Culture can be a powerful tool to steer young Londoners away from crime and criminal gangs and towards education and employment. I’m determined that all Londoners have the opportunity to gain from the benefits culture can bring to their lives, which is why I have invested in Culture Seeds, so that our small grants that can help make a big difference.”

New Pop Artists Exhibition, ‘Weft & Warp’ at Morden Hall Park

Turf Projects presents an exhibition by the Club Soda Pop Artists at Morden Hall Park’s Stable Yard Gallery. ‘Weft and Warp’ is a collaborative work inspired by the historical textiles industries that existed along the River Wandle, which were at their height in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The river provided power for the mills used in the production of calico, natural dyes and fabric printing. Some of the most celebrated textiles printers and manufacturers working along the Wandle were William Kilburn, William Morris and Arthur Liberty. The Club Soda Pop Artists have hand dyed calico with indigo, using the traditional Japanese technique of Arashi Shibori, which creates a pattern that resembles moving water. This has then been embellished with embroidery and printing using industrial objects.
