Soda Crew DJs is a project that has been running since 2009 and is aimed at adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and or autism. The group is largely focussed on maintaining and developing the DJing skills of a small number of members, resulting in opportunities to DJ at our popular live events throughout the year.
Over the past 15 months we have kept the DJ sessions going online. We are intending to re-establish weekly in-person Soda Crew DJ practice sessions from September.
We are looking for someone with prior experience of tutoring others to DJ both on CDJs and laptop. You should also have good leadership skills, creative ideas and a passion for supporting others. You will co-ordinate and manage the provision of the project.
Preferably you will have experience supporting people with learning disabilities and or autism, however this isn’t essential if you have experience supporting other kinds of community groups. We are also keen to work with someone who has experience of MCing but again this isn’t essential.
You will be employed in a freelance capacity initially for 3 months.
The post is for 3 hours per week and the rate of pay is £25ph. There will be at least one event to support at in the first 3 months and the rate of pay for working at an event is also £25ph.
The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
To find out more or apply for the role, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, including a CV or similar as well as a short expression of interest responding to the person spec above.
Closing date for expressions of interest is midday on 22 July. There will be face to face interviews held on the afternoon of 26 July in central Croydon. These will be very informal and a chance for some of our DJs to meet 2 to 3 shortlisted candidates.
